    Joomla!’s name origin is based on the Swahili word “jumla”, which means “all together”. Joomla! was released September 22, 2005 and is an open source CMS like WordPress.

    Like WordPress, Joomla! is free to download and use. If you do want Joomla! to host the site, the cost also appears to be free with the joomla.com ending.

    Joomla! users make up nearly 2 million active websites, 9% of all known business websites, and over 3% of the entire web.
